Statement on the 2024 US Presidential Elections

Though the capitalist ruling class will do everything possible to obscure it, there can be no doubt that this election was a referendum on the genocide in Gaza. In this bleak moment, we should acknowledge that the working class did not allow a genocidal administration to win another term.

Nevertheless, the genocide being waged against the Palestinian people will continue until the Zionist occupation is stopped — either by international political and economic pressure, or by the strength of resistance forces.

Within the imperial core, it is our duty — a duty that can not be discharged — to draw in great numbers of workers, help them build durable organizational structures, and mobilize them against imperialism.

It is imperialism — US finance capital — which is the true threat to both the global south and working and oppressed people in the United States. The whims of an individual politician, even one as capricious as President-Elect Trump, do not outweigh the prerogatives of capital. Politicians are ultimately the servants of the capitalist ruling class. The discrimination against women, the LGBTQ+ community, migrants, people of color, and other marginalized groups has been growing steadily under both Democratic and Republican administrations for decades.

What is the purpose of inflicting so much pain on vulnerable people? It is to divide the working class, to drive them into deeper and deeper levels of precarity, strangling their ability to demand higher wages. This is the sharp edge of class struggle. The means of resisting this oppression are the same today as they were yesterday, and will be tomorrow.

You have an inescapable duty to the working class. Please reach out to us if you are ready to join the struggle for socialism.
